Hello! This is my first submission. I’m working on my narration demo and am practicing. Please ignore my focus on my delivery, rather than the technical aspects of my recording. Does the delivery sound authentic? How’s the pacing? I’d appreciate any other feedback. Thank you. — Catherine

Power BI consulting services specialize in analyzing and visualizing time-series data to uncover trends, seasonality, and patterns over time. Power BI consulting services use DAX for calculations like moving averages and exponential smoothing. Advanced tools, such as Python and R, allow the integration of predictive models like ARIMA for forecasting. Time-series data is visualized through line charts, area graphs, and slicers for dynamic exploration. These analyses help businesses predict future performance, optimize inventory, and plan resource allocation. Services ensure dashboards are interactive, enabling real-time decision-making based on time-series insights.

Hi I’m looking for creative feedback. It’s my first time trying commercial. What advice do you have to sound more conversational? Does the tone and paste match the product? Thanks!

Hopefully this works because I can’t seem to download an mp3.

Very friendly read, JHern. You sound youthful and energetic, exactly who I imagine they’re trying to reach with the ad. Well done. 🙂

        Hi JHern,
Yes, the Google link worked. I’m in my commercial coaching sessions and also recently submitted my first commercial copy for feedback as well. We’re doing it!:D

In the sample, your voice sounds clear and bright, and I think the tone does match the product. I think the pace has just a touch of a halt-like cadence that isn’t quite a conversational pace. One piece of advice that I received and can share that could help you sound more natural/conversational is to imagine that you are speaking to a friend or someone that you want to convince to travel with Air France. Practice speaking to a partner in real life or write your own lead in (like, “Of course you can afford to go!”) and either hit record after you say your lead in or edit that part out. I still need a lot of practice and coaching, but visualizing and pretending that I’m talking to someone has helped me get closer to sounding more conversational.

        Great job and good luck!
        ~Natasha

    Hello everyone!
I am new to voice-over work, and this is my first time posting to the Feedback Forum. I’m looking forward to your critique. My recording space is not 100% set up yet, so please only provide voice-related feedback. I am currently in training for commercial work, so please let me know how these two reads sound. One is for a university and is supposed to be upbeat. The other is a PSA. Thank you for any and all voice-related feedback, and I look forward to improving. Thank you!
    ~Natasha

      Hi Natasha,

Your voice has a lovely, rich quality to it. You did a nice job matching your tone to the tone of each of the reads. My one critique for each would be to speed up your pace a bit. They felt a little too slow. Nice job for your first post!

Hi Laura! I think your flow is quite nice, it’s relaxed and conversational, though perhaps a little too easy going. It’s missing that touch of confidence in what you’re saying which is critical for e-learning. Try imagining that you’re actually sharing this info with a real person who needs it. I’m also only hearing audio from the left channel. Hope this helps!

Hello Everyone! I am working on my flow and sounding conversational, how do you think I did? Also, does anyone hear a difference in quality between the wave and mp3 formats? My program said I will loose some of the original recording by saving as a mp3, just curious. Thanks!

      Hi Laura,

The tempo of this read was very appropriate for the topic. I like the tone of your voice. My one suggestion would be to put a little more emphasis on important words in the read such as “highlight” “choose”, etc. Nice job!

Hey all, would love some feedback on this one. The almost commercial feel to it was a real challenge for me. I’ve been struggling with conversational tone and sounding natural in my reads, how do you think I did?

Hi Sarah! I agree with JamesB that this is a great conversational read and also agree that the energy and variety of “The Freatom to eat ’em” line was perfect! I think it would be great to harness that energy throughout while keeping it conversational. My only feedback is that the list early on starting with “Looking to bulk up?…” could flow a bit better – I’ve gotten similar feedback so I know how. tricky it is!

I think you did excellent. I think this is a very conversational read. Something that caught my attention was that it sounds a bit like you changed up the energy and gave more variety in your tone starting at the “The Freatom to eat ’em” line.

Hi all! Forgive any distractions and background noise as I just started coaching and am still working on my at-home studio. I’ve uploaded reads of two scripts from the narration library. I’m not sure that I am getting the hang of sounding natural or conversational and I’m also working on not rushing through the reading so I’d love to hear your thoughts on either but welcome all feedback. Thank you in advance!

Good job! I grew up in California and speak fast naturally, so I’m in the same boat. Sarah’s advice is great. I’d suggest doing a few different reads of the script with a different person in mind each time. You may be surprised with how different each recording is and you’ll find your ideal person to visualize for different commercial types/topics.

Nice job! I think you have a great voice for the scripts you picked, especially the recycling one. It seems that in your effort to not rush, you got a little choppy in your read. I’ve been doing something very similar. A tip that helped me was to really imagine the person you’re talking to with your script. If you have a specific person visualized in your head, you tend to talk more naturally and your flow will be better. Keep it up!

Greetings from Southeastern US! I did this audition yesterday and it includes 2 different takes. I rarely get work these days, so I’d love advice on how to improve! Thank you in advance!

Thank you for sharing. Our peers here have given good feedback, so my advice on how to improve is to take that advice and practice as much as possible. Best of luck on your V.O. Journey, hope to hear your progress on here in the future.

I enjoyed listening to your different takes on the same script. I think the second take was my favorite of the two. I agree with the previous poster that your read sounded a bit robotic. I think it might be based on your pitch. If you have less pitch variation, it sounds a bit more artificial. The other thing that might help your read would be to work on the flow of the sentences. If it feels like each sentence has a beginning, middle, and end, it might be more interesting for the listener. Good luck!

Greetings Adrianne! I took the opportunity to listen to your VO audio file. You have a very nice voice. The way you pronounce words are clear and precise. However, it sounds like you’re reading off a script. It doesn’t sound naturally conversational. Your pace seems somewhat slow and robotic. Also it seems you are speaking in just one tone. This is just from my perspective. I would suggest to set your pace a bit faster. Also consider the flow of words you read from as if you’re speaking naturally to someone. Imagine talking with someone who is interested in learning more about the topic. Make it sound like you’re explaining it to said person as if you’re having a natural conversation. I wish you the best in your improvement and furthering your VO career.

Hi there! Would love to get creative feedback – recorded on my phone. I realize I fumbled “other than that”. I’m very new at this and would love to hear about the pace, tone – anything! Thank you!!

First, I agree with Marcus that it sounds great. You are speaking clearly while keeping conversational. If you hadn’t mentioned the “fumble”, I probably wouldn’t have heard it. For being very new, you’re getting this quicker and better than I am. I could be wrong but there is a slight difference in delivery once you get to the list of differences, to my ear. Not a bad thing, just something that stuck out to me. Keep up the good work!

Hello Karyn! I just listened to your VO audio file. I must say the way you read your script sounds very conversational and believable. It really sounds like I’m listen to a commercial on the radio. You also sound clear and precise when you speak as well. I listened closely to the file several times and I couldn’t find anything mistakes or any fumbling. I’m a fellow VO peer who is new to VO as well, so I’m learning and improving too. Overall great job.
