Step 1 – Demo Strategy
You and David discuss the new demo and the type of work you want (commercial, promo, corporate narration, documentary…). He reviews your plans for your demo, and any prospective clients/leads you may have. You will then spend some time reading scripts and David will give you a candid assessment. He then maps out an effective plan for producing a new demo that will attract Voice Over clients and casting teams to you.
Step 2 – Demo Copy Search – done via email
David will find and edit copy specifically for your demo, emailing it to you for your review. You and David will then collaborate on the copy, emailing changes back-and-forth within reason, until both of you feel good about it. Feel welcome to provide David with any copy that you may have for consideration.
Step 3 – Demo Prep
This is a time for you to read all the copy to David, and for him to review it. Together, you’ll confirm that the length of the copy is appropriate for the demo, that it offers the right amount of variety (based on your goals and clients), that it reads well, and – most importantly – that you’re comfortable with it. If all is good, then move to Step 4. If not, recommendations will be made and changes will be enacted prior to you moving on to recording a demo.
Step 4 – Demo Recording
David directs you during your recording session. Either record in person at Edge Studio NYC, or record at an approved alternate studio and David will direct you via phone or Skype.
Step 5 – Demo Edit, Sound Design, & Mix
David works with his team to edit, sequence, process, mix, and master your demo. It will be emailed to you for your review, and you and David discuss any comments you may have. There are never additional fees for one round of reasonable revisions. We want you to feel comfortable and happy with your demo.
