Lots of useful information and a good atmosphere.
I found out about this amazing diamond-in-the-rough from Voices.com. I had no idea this was available! What an incredible learning opportunity! David is SO generous with his time and information! One of the best ways to learn is in a live workshop situation; that’s what this is. Make mistakes here. We all get it. It’s a safe environment to practice and learn about yourself and others. I’ll give this a 5 Diamond Review!! Thanks Again, David!
This session was an eye-opener. David raised the veil on auditions, revealing common expectations and requirements of casting decision-makers. David is an expert teacher and coach. Through thoughtful questioning, demonstration, engagement and feedback David created a powerful learning experience for us. We practiced an array of techniques to elevate performance. The experience was hands-on, insightful, high-energy yet comfortable and supportive.
This class is for all dream-chasers who want to realize their voice actor career visions. David’s gentle yet no-nonsense tips for winning auditions is awesome!!
Really fantastic advice from a seasoned pro! I appreciate taking this class on occasion for a brush-up on tactics and skills. David does his best to get through as many participants as possible within a short amount of time, so it’s a ton of information simply by listening in. Although I can’t say I’ve been hired more often due to the changes I’ve made in my delivery since adopting David’s best practices, I notice I’m getting shortlisted more consistently. Thanks, David!
These rehearsal sessions with David are invaluable. David is approachable, and has a positive attitude about all things to do with voice over recording. When you read a script, David will stop you mid-sentence – or even after just the first word – to impart some Voice Over wisdom to move you towards that perfect read. You get to discuss and learn about intonation, emphasis, “lazy mouth”, using your hands, and so much more. David is a man who truly listens and hears your voice, immediately identifying the great parts, and the not-so-great parts, in your delivery. His advice is always on target and delivered in a friendly manner during the relaxed and fun sessions. I thoroughly recommend spending time in David’s rehearsal sessions, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro.
I’m so thankful for the opportunity to work with David during the VO Audition Rehearsal. His tips on script analysis, vocal technique, and directions were super clear and incredibly helpful. The feedback really boosted my confidence and made me feel ready to stand out in auditions. Thank you for helping me take such a big step forward in my voice acting journey!
Truly invaluable ‘ear training’ for both the working professional voice actor AND the fledgling aspiring voice actor alike.
Scripts are volunteered for read-throughs by those who submitted them; David randomly selects one, and then he and the group listen as the submitter gives his interpretation. Impressions are shared by all, briefly. David then highlights an important aspect that may or may not have been properly articulated in the read-through.
Remember, David is teaching you what THE RECIPIENTS OF YOUR AUDITIONS are likely hearing in your take, and what they are likely looking for. David’s experience on the other side of the microphone is not to be taken lightly, and these classes will generally yield a full page of notes, for those who take notes.
You WILL learn something, everytime!
I learned so many very actionable lessons in this session that I’m a little blown away!
