ParticipantHi Bevy, good work! I liked the first script but agree with Radioguy in that there needed to be a bit more pausing with the punctuation; it sounded a bit rushed. I liked the tone on this one. For the second script on jazz it sounded a bit monotone to me. I think you could vary the tone a bit more, and still keep it smooth. The words themselves are describing lots of variation, so I think your voice could mimic that more. The third script was a nice variation from the first two and sounded nice and corporate. Good job!

How to Build a Beehive – Step 4: Once you have installed bees, the setup is called an “apiary.” When the bees have filled the bottom brood box about 80 percent full, place another brood box on top. Once that box is 80 percent full, top it with a super box, which is slightly shorter than a brood box. Continue this process as much as needed. Beekeepers harvest honey from super boxes, which once full can weigh up to 60 pounds.

ParticipantHi John, thanks for the feedback! I will work on keeping the breaths natural sounding and slowing it a little to be more conversational. Thanks for taking the time to listen!

ParticipantHi Bruce, good job! Your voice is well-suited for this genre. You have a nice deep and clear voice that cuts through and works well in a college tour like this where you are trying to get and keep college kids’ attention. Nice work!

ParticipantHi Evette, very nice! I like your nice soft tone, it’s very pleasant for an audio book. The pacing was good and I could really visualize the images. The only thing I noticed was that “stood” sounded a little smushed, like “sood” (no ‘t’ sound). but that’s minor and can easily be fixed. Good job!

ParticipantHi LSlagle, good job for both scripts! Of the 2 scripts I felt that Advil was more believable and conversational for you, just seemed to flow better. The cereal ad had good inflection and enthusiasm, and there was a nice difference in tone between the two. Keep it up!

ParticipantHi all! I’m looking for some feedback for my upcoming narration demo. I was going for a friend teaching a friend knitting vibe here. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Mary
The important thing to remember is that every knitter is different, and what works well for one might not suit another. There are also many styles of knitting, with different ways of holding the needles and working with the yarn to create knitted fabric. We’ll show you the most commonly used methods, but you should do whatever feels most natural for you. Just experiment until you find a comfortable way of performing each technique, and don’t worry if your preferred way is slightly different from ours, as long as the result is the same.

ParticipantThank you for the feedback Sherry! That is so nice to hear that progress is being made 🙂 I will listen for he flatness / unnaturalness of saying Ansel Adams in my mind I was trying to emphasize “Ansel Adams” as the subject of the piece, like in a commercial, but it probably does not need that much emphasis and separation, good point! Thank you again!

ParticipantHello all! I’m looking for any and all feedback for my upcoming narration demo. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

With one of the most instantly recognizable photographic styles, Ansel Adams is known for capturing majestic images of the American West. As a master of the darkroom, Adams created outstanding contrasts using extensive dodging and burning methods. His famous landscapes were primarily shot using large-format cameras.
