People are always selling something, and as a voice over actor, you should want to be the voice of that “something”, because that’s where the work is. In the 21st Century, commercials are everywhere and there is no shortage of a need for commercial VO actors. Want to do Commercial VO but don’t know where to begin? Well, in Edge Studio’s The Key to Commercial, we’ll give students tips and tools for nailing audition technique and successfully booking Commercial gigs.
In this class, you’ll learn the significance of adapting the product you’re selling, the audience you’re selling to, and many other important things to keep in mind when sending in commercial auditions, in order to impress potential clients.
The Key to Commercial is taught by Edge Studio’s James Andrews and will focus on how to approach commercial voice over copy. James has had an extensive career as a commercial VO actor; some of his notable clients include Toyota, McDonald’s, General Mills, Samsung, and Chevrolet. Not only a successful working voice over actor, James applies the skills and knowledge he’s gained from his many years as a speech-language pathologist to the work he does when working with and coaching students at Edge.
The Key to Commercial webinar will run for 2 hours and will include a brief Q&A at the end of the session. The concepts will be easy to comprehend but there will be a lot of information – please come prepared to take lots of notes.
