Happy New Year.
I am working on bettering my audition and self-direction skills by performing commercial reads.
Please have a listen and let me know what you think,
Hello,
Listening to both takes, I understand that this is an educational presentation, maybe? If so, you are doing an excellent job of keeping the Documentary/ presentation vibe.
My only suggestion is to emphasize the importance of your topic/ keep the listener engaged.
Aside from the copy getting cut off at the end I really thought your commercial read was awesome. loved the energy and the voice. Made me want to buy the product!
Mailboxes etc: Your voice is great! The only thing I would do is compare this recording to how it sounds in a raw format. I could hear some Compression or editing in your voiceover file that made it sound a little bit like AI.
Special-K: It sounds like a cold read. Remember to breathe when necessary to give the copy of the read more enthusiasm so that the product sounds desirable.
Of course, if it was only meant to be a cold read, then that’s okay too.
I wanted to share some good news. A client rehired me to be the Assistant Director, Acting Coach, Voiceover Talent, Singer, and Script Editor for a 2-3 part musical. The first was called “Humanoids vs. Robots”. It was a lot of work and I was singing opera-style at the very end, from within my booth, lol! Right now we are working on Par 2 called “Cyborg Mania, The Musical”. I am performing as a Cyborg who wants Revolution, as well as being the Assistant Director, copy editor, Singing 3 songs, Voiceover Talent, and Voiceover Acting Coach for the Cast.
Thank you Edge for all of your help!
Hello Feedback Forum,
I am working on my Audiobook Demo and wanted to share some of my practice recordings before a session next week. All input is appreciated!
Thanks,

It’s a good recording that is well-paced, I can hear your words clearly and understand what you are saying. Were you aiming to do a cold read for the toothpaste brand, practicing reading copies, or was this homework for pacing?
There are some moments when I hear you pause. I’m not sure if that’s because of the microphone or if there’s something in the background.
Anyway, keep up the great work!
