ParticipantHi Jordan. Sounds like Quahog’s favorite citizen to me (though your video didn’t load for me–only the audio). My only note is that you might be a bit crisper on a few of the lines. “Oh, they let me off…” and “…search for the newspapers in the backyard…” seem a little muddy to my ear. Otherwise, keep up the great work!

ParticipantHi Brian. Very accomplished read on both counts–quite pleasing in both tone and pacing. That said, I have to say that I find your second, more “D***y Jobs”/conversational read more engaging. Even though the scripts are identical, the second read keeps things moving at a good clip and definitely holds my attention (who knew track leveling could be so intriguing?)

ParticipantHi, Brian. Thank you for your insights! I shifted my mic and, as you suggested, tried to tap the breaks without losing the energy (I also noted I could’ve interpreted the script more accurately as the second line is one thought, whereas I broke it up in my original read). Again, my thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!

ParticipantMy pleasure—-thanks for your helpful insights as well!

ParticipantHello Toque! Wow, great variety on your reads—-you’re a producer’s dream! I think the exasperation of take 3 is the most unexpected/memorable (though they are all excellent reads). Well done!

ParticipantThank you, Toque (and burdshgirl)! I definitely hear the flatness in the beginning. Was trying to express the “mundane” of the search but certainly agree it still needs some variation.

Participant😆 Now I’m going to be up all night trying to figure out what word the forum ’bot censored. Thank you for your enthusiastic input!

ParticipantHello, burdahgirl. You had me at “Salsa Frrrrrresca”. No sense of screaming whatsoever, just a light, buoyant read that is as enticing as the fare you’re describing. Definitely flows naturally without any tell-tale “I’m reading off a script” woodenness. Great work!
