ParticipantHi Jensen!
Read 1: Very lovely inviting tone for this kind of corporate commercial, it suits your voice very nicely. You are adding in a lot of pauses that are cutting up the sentences for instance: “We stand for ideas of all shapes (pause) and businesses of all sizes.” So you really want to smooth out those parts.Read 2: I can hear the smile in your voice and its really nice in this read. Again, I would love to hear a take where you only pause where the periods are. Would you pause half-way through a sentence when you’re chatting with your friend about something? In normal conversations, we don’t pause like that. I had to have this beat into me by my coaches haha! Just so you know for reference again you paused here: “Defy expectations any day (pause) with Always Infinity,”
Great audio quality as well. The volume is quite low. Industry-standard for auditions is to normalize it to -3db so you may want to practice that when you upload to the feedback forum.
Great work! I look forward to hearing more from you!

ParticipantHi there, I tried posting this last night but it didn’t work, sorry if this is a duplicate! This is a longer read than I normally post. I was trying to not overthink it and was working a bit on my cold reading skills. Please let me know if I sound conversational and spontaneous and if I’m missing the mark please let me know how. I appreciate your constructive criticism!

ParticipantHey Toque! Great work on this. here are my thoughts:
take 1: There was a glottal stop here: “Kids hate (full closure of the throat = glottal stop) the word,” so if you smooth that out by not closing the back of the throat and reading it as one fluid statement – that’s money.
take 2: I think that the word “no” should be the main word you emphasize here as it is the main point of the read.
Take 3: I like this one the best. I think you had some great energy you kind of reminded me of Jim Gaffigan here – you could use him as a soundalike in your marketing.Overall great energy and a great read for you. You sound like a dad of young kids who are driving him up the wall which is great for you (and thus also reminds me of Jim Gaffigan)
Really delightful reads and great to hear the variety! You are inspiring me to post more than 1 version as I struggle with coming up with multiple was to say something 🙂

ParticipantHi John! Really nice reads!! I listened to the training one and the nero one.
Training video feedback – you have a really nice smooth delivery with no awkward pauses, and your treatment of vowels coming off of consonants is really great – no glottal stops! I learned from this read. I’m trying to be extremely conscious of glottal stops.
The Nero one – It sounded like it would work well in a documentary form. Listening to it without visuals I felt the pace was a little slow and carefully paced, but that is probably because I’m listening to it and on screen there would obviously be visuals and your pace allows time for information to sink in so take that for whatever it is worth. There was the word ‘appetite’ that lost the T on the end.Really great work John!

ParticipantThank you! I was using a lead-in but perhaps I needed to connect more to it emotionally at the start, or need a different lead-in

ParticipantHi everyone. Here is a read for a travelogue video. I’m really trying to sound spontaneous and vary my lists – trying to sound natural. If I don’t achieve this please let me know what I can do to sound more spontaneous. Thank you in advance!

This Official Alaska Vacation Planning Video is filled with plenty of breathtaking scenes. But more importantly, it’s loaded with all the information you need for planning a trip to Alaska. Like when to go, what to wear, and what to see. So if you’ve got Alaska on your mind, you’re going to love this video. Let’s begin with snow sports. This is definitely the place for cross-country and down-hill skiing. For snowboarding, tobogganing, and even ice fishing.

ParticipantHI there! I’ll give my notes on the second one as its getting rather late here for me. I thought you sounded so genuinely warm and engaged and you have a great voice for kids stuff, so these are both great script choices.
I would echo what Mary said where you have some smoothing out you can do with this read. You should pause between sentences but not within sentences. If you smooth out this read and remove the pauses I think it would be great! You’re talking to kids so I think the pacing is good so they can absorb what you are saying, it’s just smoothing out those pauses.
Nice work!

ParticipantHi Chas!
Arbys – Really nice read! I don’t have much to critique 🙂
Atkins – This one is a tough read because its pretty much like one long list. I think you did a pretty great job, though some of it felt like it could be a little more conversational. In the middle around “you lose weight – see”, perhaps it is a pacing thing. Could be stopping and really asking someone “see?? (I told you this works!)”Really nice work. Great tone and audio quality.

ParticipantThanks ladies! Trying to find how to approach things “spontaneously”. not sure I get what does or doesn’t sound spontaneous

ParticipantHi Hi! Here is a cute little narration about animal heroes. I was really trying to focus on varying my lists and trying to sound spontaneous. By all means come at me hard if you notice anything off.
Not all heroes are human.
Sometimes heroes bark, meow, or even grunt.
They may be covered with fur, have curly tails, or live in an alley.
We’re about to meet some real-life animal heroes..
Each one of these heroes has performed an amazing rescue.
Sometimes they even put themselves in danger to help others.
We’ll meet a dog who rescues stray cats.
A brave cat who saved her five kittens from a fire.
A pig who got help for her owner who was having a heart attack.
And a guide dog who led his owner down 71 flights of stairs when the World Trade Center was attacked.-
