Hello everybody! Ignore my post with the unplayable files, they were too large for the forum! I fixed them so they should be good this time. I am looking for feedback on rhythm, pacing, and intonation. I have received feedback that my sentences fall off basically to vocal fry at the endings. (It is true and I’ve been struggling to fix it.) Does my intonation sound better here? Thanks everybody! <3

Hello everybody! Nice to meet you! This is my first time posting on here as I have my second training session coming up very soon. I wanted to ask for feedback regarding my voice on these two reads. (No technical feedback please, I know there is white noise as I did not have an optimal recording space this week) Here are some things I am wondering about my reads… Do i sound robotic or smoother? How is my intonation and pronunciation? Thanks everybody!

why hello! So I was posting my sample reads for the first time, and I didn’t know that m4a’s were not acceptable formats on here. So I clicked the edit button, made some specific changes to my text, and also re-uploaded the newly converted files. Um, so after I submitted it, it still has the old post up with the old unaccessible files and without the new text I added. BONUS, the edit button disappeared. Do I just try again on a completely new post? Or do I have to wait it out? Either way, this is frustrating. 🙁

Hi fchappel! You have a wonderful sounding, deep voice! Here are a few things I noticed: As it is the same with me, I naturally say ‘tuh’ instead of ‘too’. Make sure you watch for that! I would love to hear a little more emotion in your reads. You do sound very gentle, but having some more excitement will help those longer reads move forward, and this way you can also find where the points of emphasis are in the scripts. I do hear a bit of staggered pacing at parts, so try to sound super conversational! My coach told me to imagine WHO I’m talking to, for WHY, and WHERE – and it helps a lot, for me at least! I encourage you to try it out as well! Good luck and I look forward to hearing your next reads! 🙂
