ParticipantYour reads sound great, your voice sounds like it was meant to do these scripts. My only critique is that it does sound like you may be a bit too close to your mic? I’m hearing plosives and a bit of mouth noise. Your pace is spot on, not too fast and not too slow. Overall great read

ParticipantWould you mind if I posted my own read of this script on here? I would enjoy getting your feedback.

ParticipantWas this done in one take? It certainly sounds like it 😄. I honestly wish I could do a one take read but it usually takes me several.
There was a point where I heard mouth clicks. It was at the 6 second mark. These are hard to get rid of and I struggle with them myself.
Your articulation is great, every word is a it should be. Especially for an English learning piece.DanielButtrey
ParticipantI auditioned for the same job on Voices. I listened to your rendition about 5 times now. Your audio quality is very good, all I hear is you. And you sound great. Articulation is top notch and the pacing sounds good as well.
I can only imagine that out of the current 229 auditions for this piece that there are a few that stand out in other ways that I would love to know about. The voice they thought of when they posted this has to have made itself available at this point.
I don’t really have any critique of you other than it maybe doesn’t sound very conversational. But then again the audition calls for genuine and articulate which is what you’ve presented.
Long story short, you’re back in the game and your recording space sounds great! Keep it up!DanielButtrey
ParticipantYour annunciation and pace are spot on to me in all 4 reads. I would say my favorite of the 4 is the Austin read, it reads as you being an ambassador of the city trying to drive tourism there. I get nearly the same feel from the Italy and Alaska reads but to a slightly lesser degree. Out of the 4 Cancun feels the least genuine but it’s still excellent. I wish I could pinpoint what it is that I’m hearing.
Keep in mind I’m brand new to voice over and commenting is part of my homework assignment, I am by no means qualified to critique anyone 🙂
All in all, I really enjoyed all 4 reads, I would just personally rank Austin as the best.DanielButtrey
ParticipantThanks Steve! Now that I listen back to it I definitely hear that, I’m not sure why I didn’t hear it when editing. I guess I need to train my ears more 🙂 Also my Superman sounds a bit like Supermen lol

ParticipantWorking on a narration homework assignment, I posted one about a week ago but since then I got a new DAW (free trial version) and I’ve been playing around with it. Here’s a Superman narration I’ve been working on today.

ParticipantHey Thomas! Love your voice. In the Brief history of time read I did hear a bit of mouth noise that I didn’t hear in the Sherlock Holmes read. Were you warmed up a little more on the Sherlock read?

ParticipantHey all! Working on a homework assignment like most of you guys. I’m a little bit sleepy tonight so I decided to read an excerpt from a sleep meditation. Any and all feedback is welcome 🙂
