Hello, I dont know if this is the right place, but I need a bit of help. Im trying to get ready for my demo recording, but they want an unedited audio sample, and I cant get rid of this persistent “hiss” that seems to be low level ambient noise. I am just recording out of a closet, but Ive done my best to sound proof it, and Ive noticed this noise seems to be consistent throughout my entire house, so Im not sure what more I can do. Can anyone help me get rid of this noise?

    GEICO DIRECT
These days, it seems as if every car insurance company needs a symbol. Things like a blanket or a hand. Well, if Geico had a symbol, it would surely be the frontal lobe of the cerebral cortex. You see…it’s here, deep within the brain, that nerve impulses figure out, “Hey…it’s smarter to buy car insurance from GEICO.” Over 10,000 drivers switch each week! So call for a free rate quote today. Yep, the brain’s a great symbol. We just can’t imagine the medulla oblongata on our stationary. Call 1-800-4-GEICO. GEICO Direct, the sensible alternative. Smear campaigns…mud slinging…twisting the truth.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I figured the read might have been a bit fast, but I really was having a hard time with maintaining flow while also pronouncing “for” correctly! I must have had 50 takes where I caught a “fer” or “ta”! I’ll keep improving!

Got some more homework recordings! I went with a political ad and a History Channel ad. Id love to hear what people have to say! Im really trying to work on pronunciation, especially “For” instead of “fer” and “to” instead of “ta”, so hopefully I didnt over do the effort on those!
Ill paste the scripts here too!

Thanks for the feedback. I certainly didn’t mean to put an accent on haha. I think I just had Tennessee on the mind and it happened. Its a bad habit of mine Im afraid. Happens all the time when I travel, unfortunately.

    (Jack Daniels)
In Lynchburg, Tennessee, you can park in the middle of the road to talk with a neighbor about taxes or the weather. You can pick enough wild blackberries to fill a tin bucket. And you can see a distillery where Jack Daniel made whiskey way back in 1866. We still make it in a slow, deliberate fashion, much as he did. One sip, and you’ll be glad to know we don’t ever plan to stop. Jack Daniel’s … smooth sippin’ Tennessee whiskey.
