I like these reads. I am going to disagree a bit with the two prior feedbacks you received. Your tone is a bit low key, but this may be OK depending on the direction as well as the visual associated with the scripts. There are low key voice overs I hear on TV commercials these days which work very well. You may want to experiment with different levels of energy just for the sake of practice, but otherwise I think these are very good reads. Keep up the good work!

I like the ACS read very much. The only thing that struck me was the way you read the first sentence, i.e. “It’s tough to quit smoking.” You read it in a kind of matter of fact way, almost too matter of fact. I suspect that someone who has struggled with quitting smoking would say this with more conviction. Otherwise, awesome read!

As far as “Jazz-Radio” goes, it’s been a while since I’ve listened to commercial radio, but the beginning of this sounded much too slow and low key. I think more excitement would work better especially towards the beginning. But your deep voice certainly sounds like it has excellent potential for radio imaging.

    Hi,

    Nice job!

You sound believably excited across all three reads, but I’m not sure I was picking up so much on differences in attitude. The excitement in the “awkward” version may have been slightly muted but still excited.

The excitement in your voice comes across as motivated across all three reads not only the “motivated” version.

    Just my thoughts.

    Hello,

I would appreciate any feedback as to how conversational I sound. I am not looking for feedback regarding recording quality.

The script is from Edge Studio’s script library.

    Thanks,

    Hello Folks,

The Attached was for an audition. The direction was “Male or Female – USA voice over. Professional and business sounding but not too vo sounding. Some warmth and connection.”

Also, the direction asked for two takes so the file includes two which are identified.

I am looking for feedback as to how well the two takes align with the direction. I am not looking for feedback regarding recording quality.

    Thanks for any feedback.

Sounds good to me. Nothing is jumping out as noticeably problematic. One minor thing is that you might want to annunciate a bit better the words “meal planning”, but that’s minor.

Very nice! My initial reaction is that there is a sincerity to your voice which works well with the topic of the script. I can certainly hear the difference in attitudes between the two reads. I’m not sure if you only want feedback as to how apparent the difference is regarding “attitude”, or if you also want feedback on the specifics of the two recordings. If the latter, then here is my additional feedback:

Words-1: Given the weightiness of the topic I think it’s important not read too fast so that the listener has the time to let the message sink in. You seemed to move through the first few sentences a bit fast, but the pacing worked very well as you moved further through the script. Throughout you sound like you really believe what you are saying.

Words-2: The pacing on this one was very good. However, towards the end of the script a tentative quality crept into your voice which made it sound like you aren’t entirely convinced of what you are saying and you are asking for the listeners agreement.
