Description

Are you an aspiring voice over actor with burning questions about the industry, what it takes to be actively working and booking jobs, or what it means to have a VO agent? Well, this special Q&A event is for you. Join Edge Studio for an evening of questions and answers with Matt Ambrosia, the Vice President of KMR & Associates, as well as the head of the New York voice over division of the company.

In this hour-long virtual Q&A and discussion event, Matt will be joined by Edge Studio’s Director of Education, Sarah Glugatch, for an in-depth conversation about the industry. We’ll be taking questions from students in advance, as well as live, and Matt will provide insight and advice he’s acquired from his many years working in voice over and at various agencies.

Topics covered in this Q&A will range anywhere from the advantages/disadvantages of having talent representation as an actor, tips for getting noticed by and submitting to an agency, networking and maintaining long-standing clients, and how to start one’s own career as a talent agent. The evening will be equal parts fun and informative!

Registration is open to all current and former Edge Studio students and the event will take place via Zoom. As time is limited, not all students will be guaranteed that their question will be asked – we will do our best to answer as many questions as possible.

Featured Agent: Matt Ambrosia (KMR & Associates Talent Agency)

Matt Ambrosia did not speak until he was 3 and a half. Despite everyone encouraging his parents to get him checked out, they knew he was just biding his time until he had something meaningful to say. So there is some irony in the fact that Matt has made a career out of slinging voices. Brooklyn born, Jersey raised, Wake Forest University educated, Matt Ambrosia interned at 18 years old in the Commercial department of Don Buchwald and Associates. After college he returned to work as an assistant in the Voiceover department for 2 years before being hired in 2003 by Paradigm to be an agent. During his 17 years at Paradigm he helped expand the Promo/Narration division, booked people on multiple Presidential campaign ads, and has helped start a number of very successful VO careers.
