Lindsay, you have terrific voices! And that is plural on purpose. It almost seems like you have distinctive high register and low registers to your voice. Depending on the copy, I wonder if you want to stick to a lower kind of voice or combine the two when needed.
Hi Swimmer1, I might suggest you put some more energy into your reading so it does not have a monotone type of reading. The script also says three times, “when,” so you might think about how you might want to make each time you say “when” it’s not the same each time. A slight change in tone might help. We are all novice’s in this VO world that’s for sure!
Hey Logan, I might suggest you send the message that Special K Red Berries is a good thing. You almost sound angry at the beginning of the recording. Try pretending you are speaking to someone specific about the product and see if that changes your tone and delivery.
Here are two commercial demo’s, both in the same audio file. One for Hyundai and the other for the NFL Network. Your comments have always been so helpful, especially when I have my next session with my coach.
Roman, terrific read on the Great Wolf! Can’t imagine it getting any better. As for Denny’s, I thought it was very good too. I might nit-pick that some of the text could be have a tad more annunciation. Nevertheless, both recordings sounded very professional to my ear.
Hi everyone, my coach suggested that I try uploading some “commercial” VO examples, as I have been focusing on narration. Your feedback always welcome and helpful.
Nik, its funny, one of my former students, Niki K, lives in Dubai and works at The Platform Dubai. Good luck with getting work in that part of the world. I know my former student is certainly enjoying her time there and meeting a lot of good friends.
Nik, during your recording, you seem to dip into an accent, though I can’t tell where it is from. You have an American accent for most of the voice over (which sounds good and natural), but a couple of words, like “ham” for instance seems slightly out of place.
Cary, very listenable voice. I would take a look at your diction for words like “promptly” and when you say, “to learn more.” You said, “t’ learn more.” Your focus on using clear diction at “vist consumer.gov/ncpw” was good. My coach noted that instead of saying “your,” I was say, “yer.” So I think we all sometimes shorten some words in our day to day language use. But for voice over work we have to more careful. Also, you only uploaded one mp3 file. I liked your pacing.
